Kailee McGee’s Authenticity Booth
Kailee McGee’s Authenticity Booth was an interactive installation that premiered at the Highland Park Folk Festival in La Tierra de la Culebra Park in Los Angeles, California on March 7th, 2020.

I invited guests inside my homemade, intimate 4’x4’ striped red Authenticity Booth for five minutes of pure authenticity. Each guest was greeted with a handshake and escorted behind the curtains. The authenticity came to a close with a hug and a pamplemousse La Croix. I saw over 50 visitors who all left their names, email address, and phone numbers as well as leave behind messages in the Authenticity Guest Book.
“Human connection is so rare in this day and age. I’m so grateful for this moment of real talk.
Thank you, Kailee McGee! Another winning concept.” -Claire
“Connection, vulnerability, clarity.” -Mark
“Thanks for helping me and others feel seen today. That is a truly wonderful thing to feel.” -Molly
“Eye contact in close quarters is fun.” -Zack
This event took place the weekend before the COVID-19 lockdown. Looking back, it was quite a wild and special way to interact with so many strangers up close right before quarantine #grateful
